Opportunity to raise awareness of Hidradenitis Suppurativa

We have a very exciting opportunity here. The charity has had an e-mail from Maverick television. They are the makers of programmes like Embarrassing bodies, 10 years younger and How to look good naked!!

Anyway we have had an e-mail from them stating that they are looking into doing a new programme of UN-DIAGNOSED patients and the programme will actually diagnose using specialists and they will also try to treat the patient in question during the course of the show. The show will be aired from 7:30pm on BBC 1 and has the potential to be screened to up to 4 million viewers due to the time slot.

They will also work closely with the charity aswell which will be great for publicity and awareness of HS and what a way of getting the illness out there.

The patient does have to be UN-DIAGNOSED as they will diagnose and treat the condition throughout the course of the show, and therefore we need someone of this criteria to fit. I am not sure if you have any members on your group that have yet to be diagnosed, however if you do and they are willing to appear on television this could be an opportunity not to be missed. I wasn't sure as to whether you would like to post a message onto your group asking if there was someone who would be up for the challenge.

This is really a great step forward for awareness of HS and it will be great if this does come off. Let me know if you think that you may have someone willing to help out in this way.
